Cancellation letter: what needs to go in it?

A cancellation letter is short and to the point. What matters is that the provider can clearly see who is cancelling what, and from when.

What goes in it

Making sure it arrives

The safest option is a registered letter. That way you can prove that it arrived, and when. For a deadline, what usually counts is when the letter arrives at the provider, not when you send it. So send it a few days early.

Check your provider’s rules

Some providers require a particular form, for example a signed cancellation as an attachment or cancelling in your customer account. Check the contract terms or ask customer service. For health insurance, the cancellation must be in writing.

Faster with ANU Subs

With ANU Subs Pro, you create the cancellation letter straight from your subscription: name, address and subscription are already filled in, in German, French, Italian or English. All you have to do is sign it and send it.
